Since we started using Venio, there has always been the option to load Forensic Image data in a number of formats. With the VenioOne OnDemand Interface, you can now just drag and drop your Forensic Image data into a project.

Once you are logged into your Venio Case, go to the Upload Tab. Select the “Unstructured” Icon. You will then be able to drag and drop your forensic image file.

Once you drag it and assign the Custodian, press the Upload & Process Button.

Depending on the size of the Forensic Image, it may take some time to complete the upload. The transfer speed will be subject to your internet connection and any other firewall / network shaping technologies that may be in use between your computer and the Venio Server.

Once the Data is uploaded and processed, it is now accessible within the Review and Analyze Tabs just like any other data.

A couple notes:

  1. Only Data that is Accessible in the Forensic Image will be loaded into Venio. Any Deleted Content or data contained in the Slack Space is not loaded.
    1. If you want to have any Deleted Content Recovered, or any partial files recovered from the Slack space, it must be done within a Forensic Tool like Encase. Then the resulting recovered data can be loaded into Venio as another data set.
  2. When the data is loaded, the files that are Identified as part of the NIST List are excluded (unless the project template settings do not have this set up.)
  3. Depending on the overall size or the number of forensic images to be loaded, it may make more sense to send them to our office for our team to load in for you.
