At NearZero Discovery, we offer a self-service eDiscovery option using the VenioOne OnDemand (VOD) system. This allows clients to take more control over their own cases.

Over the next several weeks we will be highlighting some key features of the VOD system.

The first major VOD feature we’ll look at is case creation.

For clients new to VOD, some initial system configuration is necessary. We will meet with you to discuss various settings and set up templates based on your requirements. After setup is complete, users can create their own cases as needed.

When creating a case, the pre-configured templates handle most of the required settings. The user is only presented with basic criteria, allowing for an easier and faster case creation process.

The user is asked to enter the following information:

• Case name and number
• Time zone
• Their preference of how to handle processing exceptions
• Passwords, if known for any encrypted files
• Basic TIFF Options
• A language for OCR
• Search Terms (if tagging during processing is desired)

Once this information is entered the user can create a case, at which time it is immediately created and available for use.
