As an eDiscovery case manager, Tarrie is responsible for managing the projects that NearZero Discovery handles, often interfacing with clients and the team to achieve client goals.

Q. How has working at an eDiscovery company benefited you?

“As a lawyer, working at NearZero Discovery has been beneficial for me because it has helped me to be better prepared in this growing area of law. This is an area of law I did not anticipate being a part of at the start of my legal education. But I have seen how important eDiscovery is for the future of our profession. I’ve been able to learn new things, especially as it relates to the intersection between law and technology, and I am profoundly grateful for that.”

Q. How did working from home change your workflow?

“There was a bit more (welcomed) interruptions with family members coming in to say hi and see how I was doing. Overall, because of the nature of eDiscovery, it did not have a negative impact on my workflow, and it was a much smoother transition than other, more traditional, workplaces would have been.”

Q. What has been your biggest challenge during the pandemic?

“Our family welcomed a baby girl during the pandemic. We are thankful to God that having the baby itself was not too much of a challenge as she was healthy. But just seeing the difference between having a baby during a pandemic was challenging. It was a big challenge because our newborn was not able to spend time with extended family as before. We were the only ones in the hospital whereas with our previous son the whole family was there – it was a completely different experience not having as much support.”

Q. How have you been staying active during COVID-19?

“Trying to do as many workouts and activities as possible. When I am inactive, I spend more time feeling sorry for myself and worrying about what is happening around. Worrying does not change a single thing. So, I’ve been spending time over the past couple months alternating between running, and cardio workouts. Due to this, I do feel a lot healthier currently than at the onset of the pandemic”

Q. What do you do for fun outside of work?

“Obviously my favourite thing to do is spending time with my friends and family. Specifically, there are so many things I enjoy doing: watching sports, going to movies, reading random facts, surfing the web, going to church, playing video games. However, my favorite things outside of work is playing board games (as I get to disconnect from digital mediums), going out to restaurants (as I love trying different cuisines) and travelling because its an opportunity to do all the above away from the normalcy of life. I love being edified about new places, seeing how different cultures live their lives, and getting to relax. Nothing compares to travelling!”

Q. What are you excited about for the rest of 2021?

“My son started preschool, so it is nice to see him adjusting to that. Our daughter is just a few months old, so I am excited to see her grow over the next couple months of 2021. I am also a part of a podcast called Relatively Related with a few of my friends. We took a break after our daughter was born, but I am excited to restart Relatively Related during the rest of 2021!” Click here to check out our earlier episodes: Relatively Related.

Q. What is your favorite part about working at NearZero Discovery?

“I like how flexible our workplace is. I enjoy working earlier hours and our workplace allows for this. Due to this flexibility, we were easily able to adapt to the pandemic. We were able to work from home or come back to the office as needed. We did not miss a day of work due to the pandemic. Our company is very much focused on getting the job done, so we use flexible schedules to do just that, and it is this reason why we can be completely committed to completing our clients’ tasks and requirements.”
