On June 8th 2023 in celebration of World Oceans Day, NearZero Discovery decided to sponsor 1 satellite tag for a Manta with Pelagios Kakunjá and the winning name being Montgomery (Monty for short!).
Monty was tagged on January 21, 2024 around 14:00 at El Boiler dive site, located at the islands of Revillagigedo, Mexico by Madalena Cabral.
The team admired his 4 spots and after being tagged, he stayed with the team for a while before swimming away. Monty will give us insight into the mysterious world of mantas and help us understand more about the migratory patterns of these amazing animals in the Eastern Mexican Pacific.
